Do you treat patients of all ages?

Yes, we see patients as young as 7 years old. It is actually recommended that parents schedule their child’s first orthodontist appointment at this time because of the changes that are occurring inside their mouth. By catching these issues early on, we can implement Phase 1 Orthodontics to minimize the potential need for braces later on or at least reduce the amount of time spent wearing them once they reach adolescence.

Can my misaligned bite cause problems with sleep?

Yes, a misaligned bite can pose a problem with your sleep patterns. Being able to breathe freely is important, but if your bite is causing a shift inside your mouth as it pertains to your soft oral tissues, it may cause a blockage, making it difficult for air to flow freely. This is why we are pleased to also offer sleep apnea therapy to individuals in need.

How is Invisalign different than traditional braces?

Invisalign in Oklahoma City uses clear aligners that are custom-made for your smile as opposed to traditional braces that use a metal bracket-and-wire system. Invisalign can lead to faster results depending on the severity of the case, and they offer greater flexibility throughout treatment, meaning you can remove them before eating and drinking.

Will I need a retainer after completing orthodontic treatment with braces?

Yes, it is necessary that you wear a retainer immediately following treatment with braces. The reason is that teeth need time to integrate into their new position. Without something to help hold them in place, your teeth will begin to shift back to their original position, undoing all your hard work. Dr. Ishani will identify the appropriate type of retention to ensure long-lasting results.

Will you accept my dental insurance?

Yes, we are pleased to work with many PPO dental insurance companies. If you’re unsure whether your insurance is part of our in-network providers, call us. Our team will be happy to assist in reviewing your policy and making sure you save the most money while undergoing orthodontic treatment.

If I’m uninsured, can orthodontic treatment remain affordable?

There are two additional payment options apart from using dental insurance or paying with cash, check, or credit card. You can apply for a low-to-no-interest payment plan through CareCredit, or you can opt to enroll in our dental savings plan that allows you to pay an annual subscription fee to receive access to various preventive services and discounts on other available treatments.
